Tuesday, July 13, 2021 The Green Forest Tigers had one of their most successful basketball seasons in years in 2020-21. Now coach Shane Compton’s team is hard at work trying to build on that success. “So far, we’ve had a pretty good summer,” Compton said recently. “We’re going to be going to several camps and and we feel like we played pretty well in all of them, trying to figure out who we are right now.” The Tigers will have to replace one all-conference player in the now-graduated Daniel McDonald, the team’s leading scorer last season. The Tigers were scheduled to host West Fork on Friday but that game was cancel...

But the Green Forest Tigers managed to break even last week even under those less-than-ideal circumstances. After losing at home to Flippin by a score of 58-36 on Thursday, the Tigers bounced back the following night with a 55-34 win over Jasper. “We’re looking forward to tomorrow night to see where we’re at,” Green Forest coach Shane Compton said, referring to Tuesday’s game at Greenland. “I think that’ll be the first game where we’ve had everybody here.” Senior Daniel McDonald scored 18 points in the victory over Jasper while sophomore Ali Cabrera added 12 on four three pointers.
