oath keepers. so january 6th committee members have made claims that they can link members of trump s inner circle to the oath keepers. and new this morning the justice department firing back at steve bannon s sudden about face that he s willing to testify before the january 6th committee just days before his contempt trial begins. trump is waiving executive privilege as he said as bannon has said and waiving should certainly be used loosely here, perhaps in quotation marks so that bannon can testify, but the doj says that doesn t matter even one bit. more on that in a moment. experts obviously believe that never applied in the first place. we do begin with sunlen serfaty who is on capitol hill with more on tomorrow s big hearing. what are we expecting? reporter: certainly a big week up here on capitol hill with two big hearings from the january 6th committee starting with tomorrow. now, tomorrow s hearing will be largely focused on the mob who participated, h ....

earlier today the fbi raided the former president s florida home, mar-a-lago, while he was in new york. according to president trump, the agents swarmed his residence unannounced, breaking into the home and even his personal safe. in a statement, the 45th president wrote a beautiful home is currently under siege, rated and occupied by a large group of fbi agents. he continued nothing like this has ever happened to the president of the united states before. after working in cooperating with the relevant government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate. it is prosecutorial misconduct. the weaponization of the justice system and an attack by the radical left democrats who desperately do not want me to run for president in 2024. cording to the new york, who got the scoop first somehow, the search was focused on documents that the former president brought with him from the white house, including potentially classified documents. sou ....

MSNBC Deadline White House July 7, 2024

that hearing will take place after the committee has videotaped the testimony of pat cipollone. cipollone, think, is the trump white house s top lawyer. he s a man who, at least as far as we know, appears to have pushed back on some of the most dangerous and brazen ideas conceived of by the ex-president and his closest allies as they worked to overturn the results of the 2020 election. cipollone also held the same job as john dean whose legendary 1973 testimony was a turningpoint in the watergate investigation. here is what january 6 investigator john wood had to say right here on msnbc about the tremendous significance of the committee getting an interview with cipollone. it was really important that he would eventually end up testifying before the committee and on the record and videotaped so the american people can see it. i m glad that is coming together this friday so hopefully the committee will show some of the key clips of that interview during a hearing next ....
