Robert Quimby is director of the Mount Laguna Observatory and professor of astronomy at San Diego State University. He will present a lecture at the Alpine Library on Aug. 5 on the current work being done at the observatory and to reduce local light pollution with the designation of Cleveland National Forest's Descanso Ranger District as an International Dark-Sky Park.
