Eamonn Holmes explains why Northern Ireland is a "great wee place" Jane Corscadden Although Eamonn Holmes may now live on the other side of the Irish Sea, he’ll always be a Belfast boy at heart. The North Belfast native comes from humble beginnings in the Cliftondene area – and has remained very proud of the “great wee place” he’s from. In 1997, Eamonn and his wife, Ruth Langsford, first met while he was working on GMTV. The pair then got married in 2010 at Elvetham Hall in Hampshire. Their marriage came eight years after Ruth gave birth to their son, Jack.
