QE Index soars over 150 points 26 Feb 2021 - 9:07 Sachin Kumar | The Peninsula Qatar Stock Exchange (QE) index surged 167.81 points, or 1.67 percent yesterday to close at 10120.67 points, driven by strong buying interest from domestic and foreign investors. With the help of yesterday’s gains, the index once again crossed the psychological level of 10,000. The QE Index had closed at 9952.86 on Wednesday, after registering a decline of 68 points. The volume of shares traded increased to 309.33 million from 200.48 million on Wednesday while the value of shares increased to QR802.12m from QR506.86m on Wednesday. QLM Life & Medical Insurance, Qatar Insurance and Alkhaleej Takaful Insurance were among the top three gainers in yesterday’s trade which rose 10 percent, 7.4 percent and 6.8 percent respectively. ....
