Hanoi (VNA) - The Politburo and Secretariat of the 13th-tenure
Party Central Committee held their first session in Hanoi on February 18 to
discuss key tasks for the first quarter and the policy for purchasing and using
COVID-19 vaccines. 
The
Politburo and Secretariat asked Party Committees at all levels to focus on
leadership and direction and offer all possible support to fight the pandemic,
considering it a task of top priority.

Singapore (VNA) – Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister
of Finance
Heng Swee Keat on February 16 announced the nation’s 107 billion SGD
(80.8 billion USD) budget plan in 2021 to provide
immediate help to sectors
under stress, and invest in the country’s long-term future.
The Singaporean government will spend 700 million SGD for wage subsidies under
the Jobs Support Scheme (JSS), which will be extended by up to six months to
help businesses that remain badly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic to retain
workers, he said.
The subsidies - which range from 10 percent to 30 percent

Hanoi (VNA) – Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang,
Politburo member, member of the Central Military Commission’s standing board, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and Deputy Minister of National Defence, on February 17 said the army has closely coordinated with the public security force in maintaining political security and social order during the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.
Speaking at a working session between the Ministry of National Defence and the General Staff, Giang urged the General Staff to continue implementing the Party’s guidelines and the State’s laws and policies on national building and safeguarding in the new situation, along with the Resolution adopted at the 13th National Party Congress, and other relevant documents.

Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin on February 17 launched the special terrestrial
Education TV channel DidikTV KPM, which can be viewed from 7am to midnight daily.
The setting up of the special channel was
an effort by the education ministry to increase access to quality education for five
million students nationwide, the state-run news agency Bernama said.
