Supporters of the proposed Learning Enrichment and Academic Progress (LEAP) program want to see lower- and middle-income parents of Colorado school-aged kids to receive an annual stipend of around $1,500 per child for out-of-school learning services, including after-school programs, individual tutoring and specialized after-school learning classes. In its first year, an estimated $90 million of the proposed $150 million program would come from marijuana sales. ....

Cannabis businesses can no longer advertise on billboards anywhere along a highway that crosses state borders, after a judge ruled in a favor of a central California dad who sued to block such ads.
The ruling won’t impact stretches of in-state freeways populated with marijuana billboards, such as the 55 in Orange County or the 215 in the Inland Empire.
But the Bureau of Cannabis Control said Thursday that billboard companies must immediately stop selling space to marijuana shops and start taking down existing ads near roadways that at any point cross state borders. This will mean no cannabis billboards near heavily used freeways such as Interstate 10 in the Inland Empire, the 5 freeway in Orange County, and Highway 101 in Los Angeles. ....

It is a little more of a conservative town than denver. they have banned recreational marijuana. voters actually voted for recreational marijuana here in colorado springs. over 5,000 people voted for, more than against. but the city didn t recognize the vote. they basically decided to govern the people instead of the people governing themselves. amendment 64 was passed on a statewide basis and never intended as a local referendum. voters in colorado springs were in favor of the measure by roughly 5,000 votes. nonetheless, the city council has chosen to opt out of recreational sales. colorado springs is basically a large military installation town. very conservative town, a lot of our economy is built on military. so their fear is the military bases are going to get up and go away from colorado springs. we re currently in the process of basically trying to either put the ballot measure on the ballot ourselves or hoping they re going to say this is ....
