Weatherford PD’s Travis McClure has been in law enforcement for almost nine years. It’s been long enough for the Marine veteran, now an investigator and SWAT team member with WPD, to make a big impression on his colleagues, supervisors and the community.
That much was evident earlier this week, as he was announced as the Parker County American Legion Post 163’s Police Officer of the Year for 2020. ....

Texas-focused virtual career fair set for June 10

The American Legion Department of Texas is partnering with the Texas Veterans Commission and Texas Workforce Commission for a virtual career fair on June 10.
The virtual career fair will be open exclusively to women veterans from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. CDT on June 10 and will open to all transitioning servicemembers, veterans, military spouses and their dependents from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. CDT.

In addition, a virtual workshop is scheduled for employers from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. CDT on May 19, with topics including how to register for the career fair, how to set up a virtual booth, and how to chat with job seekers. ....
