Roads. i had our small plow pickup trucks that could not be operated on the roads, they were getting stuck. all we could use are our big ones, and fur a private stcitiz or resident driving around and you get stuck, you could have been in that car for a long period of time before somebody could have found you, especially if you are in some remote area, not close to a house or anything. yeah, hopefully you are being found alive, right? you have had any deaths in amherst? unfortunately, yes. not to my knowledge where people were found in cars, but there were problems with emergency services reaching some people at their residence, and just because the emergency vehicles couldn t get there quick enough that s all we have been doing, really, for the last few days is assisting emergency crews getting down streets. ....

What can you tell us about the situation in erie county? for the town of amherst, we are just a little north of buffalo. we received as much snow as anybody else, if not more. normally we can deal with 40 inches of snow. however, when there is a 70 mile an hour wind blowing it around for 36 hours and i can t put the plow trucks out, we fell behind the eight ball. so now we are trying to catch up to clear the roads from a good 2 to 3 feet of snow off these roads that again, normally we would have taken care of during the last three days. anita: when you have that much snow and you are doing your best to get out there and clear the snow so people can get out, are there people who are are you worried there are people who are trapped inside their homes, can t get out, the basics they need and what about power. are there still power outages in ....

The area? yes. the town of amherst, approximately 37,000 households. at the peak from our power grid company they showed over 3,000 people were without power, primarily saturday into sunday. and this is where we were assisting our trucks, my high lifts, plows were assisting emergency services to answer the calls so we could help the people out. that was a priority. nobody is going to argue that, but it did delay myself and my crews from cleaning our roads. so again, today finally as we open more roads, the emergency services can access the calls. it doesn t require our help so that we can concentrate now and in doing our regular business. anita: what do you want to tell the people of your town, what advice to ride out the next ....
