A dusk-to-dawn curfew was imposed in parts of the city after large-scale violence, arson and numerous stabbing incidents left two killed in group clashes during the Bangalore bandh organised by the supporters of Kannada matinee idol Raj Kumar.
The blast was reported around 12:30 am on Wednesday night in Galiara, a pathway and park around the Golden Temple.
Amritsar Police Commissioner Naunihal Singh said police received an intimation at around midnight that "a loud sound" had been heard. This was the third low-intensity blast to take place near the Golden Temple—the first took place on Heritage Street on May 6, and the second on May 8.
