(Peoria County Jail) The PPD’s Criminal Investigations Division has identified the suspect as 42-year-old Christopher Sanders. During the course of an investigation, detectives developed information which led to Sanders becoming a suspect. On Thursday, detectives had reason to believe Sanders left Peoria and was headed south, possibly to the greater St. Louis area. Local authorities were contacted and advised of the incident. PEORIA — A now-former Peoria County sheriff's deputy has posted bail after being arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident Saturday night in which he was alleged to be intoxicated. Andrew J. Engelbrecht, 35, was booked into the Peoria County Jail on Thursday morning for allegedly driving under the influence, failing to give aid or information after a crash, failing to notify police of a crash, disobeying a red light and leaving the scene.
