Parallel not to shock anybody but to just talk about what was happening at the moment. candidly, he made those comments before january 6th and it is hard not to suggest that what happened on january 6th was not reminiscent of what we saw in germany in the 1930s. so i think it is an absolute historical analog, and i think things played out in the weeks following to demonstrate that he was right. where does this leave us now? i mean donald trump issued a statement on thursday denying that he ever considered a coup and saying in part, quote, if i was going to do a coup one of the last people i would want to do it with is general mark milley. so he didn t miss his opportunity to take a swipe at the chairman of the joint chiefs. where does this leave us? i mean i don t know whether to feel that now that donald trump is no longer the president, and at least this guardrail of our democracy held, that that particular threat is worth knowing about, but it is not a threat anymore. donald trump ....

It can continue you can ask for them to be continued if you need it longer. at this point, we do expect the district attorney s office will continue to pursue the broader investigation into financial crimes by the trump organization and its officers. the manhattan district attorney office, obviously, is a very high profile place. they have a lot of high profile cases. one has to imagine that there s never been a higher stakes or more pressure or attention on a single case that this office has ever brought in history. it s hard to think of an analog. it s a high profile, high stakes case. it s been going on for a very long time. we also know that at this point the district attorney s office has been trying to get allen weisselberg to cooperate. he refused up to this point. tomorrow might change things. ....
