Colnbrook with Poyle resident has been given the chance to have their say on plans for their neighbourhood. A survey has been sent to residents, including questions on what they value in the area, what community services they would like to see and how they currently use the High Street. Councillor James Swindlehurst, leader of the council, said: “These are exciting times planning for the future and we want to work with residents, as we have done with our plans for a new community hub in the village, in building a better future for Colnbrook. “We have a real chance to look at the community services we run in Colnbrook depending on what residents and businesses say they want and need. This is a great opportunity to share their ‘wish list’ for the area. ....
Conservative candidate Chandra Muvvala takes Langley Kedermister from Labour THE Conservatives made a surprise victory this Slough election by narrowly winning Langley Kedermister. Fourteen seats were up for grabs at Slough Borough Council where Labour managed to lose two seats, but still maintained a majority at the council. The closest battle fought was between Tory candidate Chandra Muvvala and Labour’s Mike Holledge for Langley Kedermister, which has been under Labour-control for years. The leader of the council, councillor James Swindlehurst (Lab: Cippenham Green), said he was expecting it to be a close race, but hoped they would retain Langley Kedermister. ....

Carter (Labour) “Martin Carter has been a Britwell Councillor since 2011, and has represented the communities of Britwell & Northborough, since Northborough joined the ward at the 2014 elections. Martin is married with a grown-up family and has lived in Slough for over 20 years. Martin runs his own computer repair business and also provides technology support services for the ‘One Slough’ Voluntary Partnership. “As your Councillor, Martin has worked to secure parking improvements; get better upkeep of open spaces; and to get action stepped up against anti-social behaviour, to help keep our community safe. Martin will work with residents to find local parking solutions and will work to improve the housing repairs service for Council tenants, if re-elected on Thursday, May 6. ....
Slough Borough Council currently consists of 41 councillors who represent 15 wards and the current political makeup is 34 Labour, four Conservative, and three independents. The number of councillors at the council will increase by one (42) as a spot has remained vacant since Wexham Lea Cllr Shabnam Sadiq tragically passed away from coronavirus last year. Labour currently has three councillors in Baylis and Stoke, Britwell and Northborough, Central, Cippenham Green, Cippenham Meadows, Elliman, Farnham, Langley Kedermister, and Langley St Mary’s. They also have two in Chalvey, Upton, and Wexham Lea, and one in Colnbrook with Poyle. The Conservatives have all three members in Haymill and Lynch Hill and one in Colnbrook with Poyle. ....
