Great Redwood Trail costly; trees at risk
Plans for a new segment of the Great Redwood Trail south of Ukiah include cutting down valley oaks, though there may be a possibility of saving them. Approval to build the trail on top of the tracks has not materialized yet, and the costs and environmental impact of building the trail alongside the defunct line are growing.
