New York State Electric & Gas announced a pair of projects - one on the north side of town along Horsepound Road and one in the southern part of Carmel, along Stebbings Road. According to NYSEG, the projects - part of the company’s “Resiliency Program” - will upgrade approximately three miles of power lines and bring enhanced reliability to approximately 4,107 residential and business customers. Officials said that crews will be installing new “SCADA” switches, that will allow the company to temporarily switch which circuit is powering a customer’s home or business, providing additional sources of power supply. ....
NYSEG Begins Circuit Upgrades To Vestal Customers NYSEG has announced new circuit upgrades to customers in the Vestal area, the 623 distribution line will provide greater reliability to thousands. According to a news release, NYSEG has begun work on the upgrade project to their electric distribution system, that will benefit over 7,000 customers in total. Get our free mobile app The Vestal 623 circuit delivers power directly to 1,711 customers, and 5,500 customers on the connected circuit. The upgrade is part of NYSEG’s resiliency program, that enhances safe and reliable service to its customers. In the release, Andy Gumkowski, manager of Resiliency Field projects at NYSEG said “Once completed, these upgrades will strengthen the system against harsher more unpredictable weather, and better support the local communities we serve.” ....
RG&E completes circuit upgrades in Greece Monroe County Post Rochester Gas & Electric recently completed circuit upgrades in Greece on Latta Road, Island Cottage Road and Mount Read Boulevard on the company’s 5255 circuit, bringing enhanced reliability to 1,604 customers. This upgrade is part of the company’s resiliency program, which proactively hardens the company’s systems to continue providing safe and reliable service to all customers. “I’m very happy to have worked with RG&E to help bring these important enhancements to our residents here in Greece,” Town Supervisor Bill Reilich said. “When challenging events like the windstorm of 2017 impacted our community, we responded with every resource at our disposal to aid and assist our neighbors and families.
