A POPULAR music festival has taken place in Malvern over the weekend.

ICONIC aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will buzz over a popular Malvern music festival this weekend.

Mappfest, which raises thousands for charity every year, was cancelled in 2020, but returns this year. Returning to Malvern Common on Saturday, August 7, Mappfest aims to be a family friendly music festival with local musicians and acts from further afield. This year, legendary musician Robert Plant has signed a handmade Marquetry picture made by local craftsman Tony Taylor, and this year the festival will be supporting Headway, St Richard's Hospice and Water Rescue. A CITY councillor says there has still been no action to make a crossing point safer three years since a high profile campaign. Cllr Lynn Denham says the fight will continue for a pedestrian crossing or a dropped kerb, or both, in Midland Road, just before the tunnel leading to Newtown Road, in Worcester.
