Huff, who currently serves as chief of staff at CMCSS, was recommended June 2 by Millard House II, the outgoing leader of Clarksville s public school system. Meanwhile, the school board waived the six-month notice provision in House s contact, which will allow him to leave CMCSS on June 25 and start his new job as superintendent of the Houston Independent School District in Texas on July 1. On May 21, House was named HISD s lone finalist the school district is the seventh-largest in the nation. House expects to officially be named HISD superintendent on June 14. ....
The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Board has selected an interim Director of Schools. Dr. Angela Huff has been the Chief of Staff for the school system since July 2018. Before coming to Clarksville, Dr. Huff worked as special projects manager for Williamson County Schools in Franklin, Tennessee. She retired from Georgia in 2016 after a 32-year career in education. She served in the roles of chief of staff, assistant superintendent, and principal over her 24-year tenure with the Cobb County School District in Marietta, Georgia. Before entering administration, she had eight years of teaching experience in Gwinnett County Public Schools, the largest school district in Georgia and the 14th largest in the nation. She earned the honor of Teacher of the Year in 1988. ....
