1/1 AN “OVERWHELMED” second hand car seller committed a £160,000 fraud at a post office in an effort to keep the business afloat. Anthony Chediak was spared an immediate prison term by a judge at Bournemouth Crown Court this week, one-and-a-half years after the postmaster was jailed for fraud by abuse of position. Chediak presented four cheques totalling £160,000 to Newtown Post Office in Sea View Road in September 2017. These were to be paid into the accounts of two businesses – Coastline Cars Limited and Coastline Vehicle Supply Limited, both registered to offices in North Road, Poole, which he was running at the time. ....
1/1 A dangerous driver who flipped a man over his bonnet after a road-rage incident has been spared prison – for now. John Garrington was said to have cut up a car driven by his victim’s wife as they exited the roundabout at Junction 16 towards Royal Wootton Bassett on April 7, 2019. The couple had left their West Swindon home at 2.45pm and were heading to a livery yard. Swindon Crown Court heard the occupants of the two cars exchanged gestures. Garrington, 50, slowed down and stopped abruptly near the Sally Pussey’s Inn. The two cars ended up on the roundabout near the Interface Business Park. Garrington, driving a Vauxhall Astra, went around the roundabout several times – followed by the other vehicle. ....
