The Lopers knew that they were in for a big weekend that needed two wins to help them in the postseason race and to help their coach reach a major milestone. They did exactly that, defeating Central Oklahoma 3-1 and Newman 3-0, making it five straight for the Lopers.

The No. 1 ranked UNK volleyball team got to play in front of a home crowd for a weekend series of matches. Last Saturday saw top-ranked opponents battle out on the court between the No. 3 Washburn Ichabods and the Lopers. A back and forth battle between UNK and Washburn saw the Ichabods upset UNK in four sets

With the men ranked No. 27 in the outdoor Division II National Rating Index and both teams breaking school records, they seem to be set for success. Only bad weather could delay the team before the Loper Invitational. “It’s never great when you have to adjust the schedule,” said head coach Brady Bonsall. “[The meet] was supposed to be on Friday. Sunday was our only option to have it in terms of being able to use the facility.”
