Dozens of student demonstrators gathered at the Nebraska Union on Wednesday to demand the University of Nebraska cut economic and social ties with Israel in protest of the ongoing war.
Pro-Palestinian protesters held signs and chanted slogans like, "Not another penny, not another dollar, we won't pay for Israel's slaughter," in front of the student union at the UNL campus Wednesday.
The group Lincoln for Palestine is setting up a "Liberation Zone for Palestine" outside of UNL's downtown student union on Wednesday.
Organizers say they want the University of Nebraska, state officials, and other Nebraska institutions to stop investing in the war.
A youth panel discussion, "Displacement and Reimagining the American Dream," will be held Nov. 14 as a part of the E.N. Thompson Forum of World Issues 2023-2024 series.
