There are whole parts of the ocean, as you can see on this, map it s not just the north atlantic. you see it developing in the el niño system in the pacific. you see a lot of anomalous warmth in the southern ocean. it s basically everywhere. the anomaly is not as extreme as it is on the north atlantic and other parts of the ocean, but it s off the charts everywhere. and that is quite concerning. a big part of it is just the el niño switch and we will be moving into a more erratic el niño pattern that will add heat to the planet over the next couple years and maybe quite intense el niño, but even beyond that, i think we are seeing something where we are reckoning with the fact that we are living in unprecedented future today and we are seeing a hint of how much more extreme it s going to get. one of the things i was going through, 90% the warming is being taken by the oceans, which when you think of it that ....
