A story that you come from nothing and make it into something and something big. on this july 4th weekend what makes america great is opportunity. our country gives the most people the best chance to prosper. that s what makes great. because in other countries around the world there are class systems, there are government oppression, things in play. but here, if you work hard, if you re honest, if you get educated, you have a real shot at it. a lot of luck is involved but just keep working and persevering. this is why i love america. i came from very little to be here tonight, to talk about the 4th of july. freedom isn tri free. individual responsibility will make the difference but america is the greatest country in the world because of opportunity. in spite of all of our difficulties that we have had, this country has come extremely long way towards true freedoms and equality for everyone. ....
Classmates have already. but, they understand, you know, that freedom isn t free. and, it is just, it is overwhelming, it really is. happy birthday, america and to army! are you, kidding me? happy birthday, america, go navy! i was around 11 years old in that picture, my father was commanding a a battalion. my father talked about winning freedom andd he said that, freedom is never free and america is a great reminder of the struggle and what is worth struggling for to the rest of the world. i mean if you can dream it, sounds so cliche, but it s true, you can be it. you can achieve it. when it comes to our freedom, to say what we want to whom we want, whenever we want that still holds this country is still great for that. ....
I had amazing education. same for my child. no mattered who you are, everyby get as basic foundation so you can make anything of it. equality of opportunity, not of result. that is what i love about this country. bob, we also have baseball and football. soccer. not so much soccer. soccer doesn t count. tell you what i see from personal standpoint is, coming from where i came from a very dark place, that i was able to get back into the american scene without being seen as somebody who couldn t do it. think that is a good point. doesn t really matter where you start or if you rise up and fall back down. you can climb back up. multiple times. and i think this is most generousus country in the entire world. this country gives to charity like no othere nation in the entire world. very benevolent. you add our all-volunteer military armed forces that protect our rights to do all these things like to have flag pins and pens. flag pins. ....
Businesses to have unequaled opportunity in the world. well that is really what america represents. my grandfather, carmine, came to this country in 1919. you can imagine what he was feeling. what your ancestors was feeling leaving a place so familiar with friend and family. because ofie the promise of opportunity. because of the promise of freedom and opportunity. when youou look at america and u think aboutme it, what has amera given to you? it gave me the opportunity to never give up. the road is not smooth. the journey is not equal. the situations have to be overcome. and you don t succeed in every step of the way. but in this country, you learn from what you need to learn, by that bumpy road and you never give up, taking advantage of the opportunity america permits you. i think as immigrants we ....
Appreciate this country. sometimes even more than the people that have been here for generations. we respect its freedoms and the way that you really are allowed to live the life that you want. i think america stand for the dignity of every human person and that hope that life can be better. at freedom of speech make this is country great. the freedom to truly express yourself. talk about your beliefs. tonight we re asking our panel members, what makes america great? the ability to participate in forums such as this where we can have this debate. where we are free to criticize the president of the united states and in sometimes very robust and aggressive ways because we don t agree with what he is doing to the country. that i think is something that truly makes us unique, even at this point in 2014. there are very few countries in the world where you can ....
