AUSTIN – Attorney General Paxton’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit has announced the conclusion of an investigation that led to the conviction and sentencing of Anthony Obute, the owner and pharmacist in charge of Keystone Pharmacy in Houston.
Three Houston-area pharmacists, a doctor, and a pharmacy technician have been arrested for allegedly running three pharmacies and two clinics as “pill mills;” distributing hydrocodone, oxycodone, and other controlled drugs without a legitimate medical purpose.
The Nigerians involved, if convicted, risk sentencing up to 20 years in prison.
