LECTURERS at the University of Liverpool have voted overwhelmingly for strike action over redundancies which they say include “world-leading academics” who have researched treatment for Covid-19. The University and College Union (UCU) said bosses plan to axe up to 47 teaching and research jobs in the university’s faculty of health and life sciences, including staff studying treatments for Covid-19.
