A charity which has raised more than £5m for the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton, is hoping to recruit new trustees to help it carry on its work.

A HOSPITAL charity which has raised more than £5m since it was set up is relaunching itself with the backing of the community it serves. The Friends of the Friarage in Northallerton called on staff, volunteers and residents to help it come up with a new logo and branding to help the charity support the hospital amid ongoing reorganisation within the NHS. The charity was originally set up in 1957 as the League of Friends of the Friarage, with thousands of backers over the years supporting fund raising and drives to support the hospital. The centre will provide state-of-the-art training facilities for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and Friarage staff. It will also provide a range of training opportunities for healthcare staff across North Yorkshire, Hambleton and Richmondshire in the future.
