The McClain varsity volleyball team were a little short-handed Saturday when they hosted River Valley in a Division II sectional quarterfinal game, but even without the services of starting libero Katie Cook, they still won with a 3-0 sweep of the No. 19 Lady Raiders.
It was a match like most when McClain and Hillsboro get together. The place or records don’t really seem to matter, and that’s how it went down Tuesday night when the Lady Tigers needed five sets to pull out an exciting volleyball nail-biter on their home floor over their league and county rivals.
After winning their first three matches to begin the season, the McClain varsity volleyball team lost to a very good Wilmington team, 3 sets to 1 Wednesday night in Greenfield.
