Want to. now, here are the two features the new york times is talking about, and i can tell you that this is accurate, in fact. the first one is called an angle of attack indicator, aoa indicator, and it literally is telling you what is the pitch of the aircraft, what is the nose doing, is it up or is it down. does it look like it is in a proper flying configuration but there are two sensors on the plane, two aoa sensors, angle of attack sensors, one on each side of the plane. what happened is there was bad data from one of the sensors, feeding into the computer system. the computer system says, oh, my gosh, the angle of attack sensor says this plane is about to stall so we need to put the nose down to keep it from stalling. now the question is, wait a minute if you ve got two sensors, why is the computer only relying on one to determine if the plane is going it stall, shouldn t it rely on both? that is an error. that is something boeing says from now on they re going to push through ....
