AP Panchayat Elections: Kuppam People Have Taught Chandrababu A Lesson For Neglecting Them, Says Sajjala

Feb 19, 2021, 08:32 IST
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Government Advisor(Public Affairs) addressed a press conference on Thursday and said that the defeat in Kuppam has made Chandrababu Naidu lose his senses, resulting in desperate outbursts as his political innings is coming to an end. He stated that Chandrababu’s political career was at the dusk, where filing nominations itself has become a herculean task for TDP leaders. The people of Kuppam have finally come out of the evil clutches of Chandrababu seeking respite from his irresponsible leadership.
Brushing aside the comments on YSRCP leaders threatening voters through village volunteers, Sajjala said that there is no necessity to threaten voters, as the government is delivering welfare schemes to the doorstep on a saturation basis, unlike in TDP regime. He dared Chandrababu to accept how he had threatened the voters during the Nandyal by-election. He slammed Naidu for alleging that democracy failed with the victory of YSRCP and said that only he can pass such irresponsible comments.

AMARAVATI: Expressing confidence that the good governance of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will reflect in the ongoing elections, YSRCP has said that the Party has proposed to make the State Election Commission (SEC) into a multi-member body on the lines of Central Election Commission (CEC) which would keep a check on misuse of power by any single individual.

Sibling Rivalry Comes To Fore In AP Panchayat Elections 2021

Sibling Rivalry Comes To Fore In AP Panchayat Elections 2021
Feb 08, 2021, 15:57 IST
With candidates gearing up for the four-phase Panchayat Elections to be conducted in the State of Andhra Pradesh, several interesting stories are emerging as the candidates file nominations for the posts of sarpanch and ward members.
Sibling rivalry has come to the fore and has led to fights within the family where brothers and sisters from the same family are entering the panchayat arena in the same area.
In one such case two sisters from Kunkalamarru village in Karamchedu mandal of Prakasam district  are contesting for the Sarpanch candidates in the same Gram Panchayat election battle in their village. As per details  Edara Rajakumari (elder sister) and Edara Soundarya from the village grew up and studied till intermediate. They were married off into the same family. After the notification for the first phase of elections was announced for the  Kunkalamarru  village which has been reserved for SC women , two communities have pitted the sisters against each other. Though the families have no personal difference, they have taken the elections seriously and have started canvassing rigorously.

Panchayat Elections 2021: Candidates Offer To Pay Immigrant Voters' Commuting Fee

Panchayat Elections 2021: Candidates Offer To Pay Immigrant Voters' Commuting Fee
Feb 08, 2021, 17:35 IST
As the State of Andhra Pradesh gets ready for the first phase of the Panchayat Elections, which will be held on February 9, the situation is somewhat similar to how the general elections are being held.
Even though thousands of votes are needed for the assembly and parliamentary elections, the case is different when it comes to the Panchayat elections as it  is conducted on a non - party basis and confined to a smaller topography. It is restricted to the number of people in the respective villages and there is no need to call for those who have left the villages for employment or other purposes to the cities.
