The study from the analytics firm, Pixalate, found that one-third of Apple and Google Apps are outdated, and now developers are facing grave consequences.
Apple said these apps were removed since they are not updated and downloaded by users. Several developers have raised concerns over Apple sending them an email and threatening their apps to be removed from the App Store, citing that they had not been updated in a "significant amount of time.
Apple started removing apps that have yet to be updated for "a significant amount of time" after 30 days. Unsurprisingly, this has angered indie app developers.

The filing was made after the Competition Commission of India started reviewing allegations that Apple hurts competition by forcing app developers to use its proprietary system which can charge commissions of up to 30% on in-app purchases.
