Betsy Kikstra appointed to Zeeland Schools Board of Education
Why they wanted to get involved in the decision making process for the district at this time? What things they want to see changed in the district, and what they see their role being in those changes? Would they plan to run for reelection when the appointment is complete? How they would handle a situation where a parent approaches them with an issue in a public setting? In her video, Kikstra said building on the district’s diversity, equity and inclusion work to better prepare students for life and reviewing hiring practices to bring in diverse candidates should be priorities.
