CREDI CREDI As a result of the vision and directive of the late Archbishop Anthony Pantin in 1996, CREDI was legally established through an Act of Parliament in 1997 (Act # 41 of 1997). However, the institution was never activated until after a Roman Catholic Synod in 2005, where recommendations were again articulated highlighting the need for this type of institution. The Most Reverend Edward Gilbert, then Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Port of Spain, requested that CREDI be reactivated and made fully operational according to its original mandates. In October 2007, under the guidance of then Monsignor Charles Jason Gordon, Vicar of Administration, for the Archdiocese of Port of Spain, CREDI established its offices in Belmont and opened its doors in 2007 as a tertiary education institution. ....
