The nine-day win streak was the Dow Jones Industrial Average's longest since a 12-day run of gains in February 2021.
Earnings results from JPMorgan, Wells Fargo, and BlackRock beat analyst estimates and showed no signs of a slowing economy.
"Although policy is restrictive, it may not be restrictive enough and it has not been restricted for long enough," Fed Chair Jerome Powell said.
Investors are also looking to the Fed's next policy meeting June 13-14, when central bankers will decide their next move.
