The store is set to close this weekend after 17 years. HOUGHTON The sign on the front door says it all. It reads, “We would like to thank everyone who has supported us for the past 17 years. It has been a joy serving and getting to know all our wonderful customers …you will be missed.” The Bookworm, which is located at 815 Shelden Avenue, is closing this weekend. For 17 years, it has been a destination spot for new books, used books, coffee, locally-made items and most importantly friendship and camaraderie. ....

The Bookworm is closing after a nearly 17 year run in the city. Owner Arthur Lampinen says the move will enable him and his wife to be close to her side of the family after they end up in South Dakota. That isn’t the only reason for the change though.
