PSL: Fans return as Karachi face Quetta in opening match


(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Spectators will return to cricket stadiums in Pakistan for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began when the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League begins in the southern port city of Karachi on Saturday.
The government has allowed the Pakistan Cricket Board to admit 20% capacity of fans inside the stadiums for the country s premier Twenty20 league, maintaining proper social distancing and making masks mandatory for spectators.
The decision meant National Stadium in Karachi will accommodate 7,500 fans and Lahore s Gaddafi Stadium 5,500.

Trump-friendly social network Parler announces re-launch


(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) The right-wing friendly social network Parler, which was forced offline following the January 6 attack on the US Capitol by supporters of then-President Donald Trump, said it is re-launching.
The Twitter alternative has been struggling to return online since Amazon stripped it of web-hosting service on January 11 over its unwillingness to remove posts inciting violence. Google and Apple removed Parler s app from their online stores for the same reason.
An interim CEO, Mark Meckler of the Tea Party Patriots movement, said in an emailed statement on Monday that Parler would be brought back online for current users this week with new users being able to sign up next week. ....
