In the latest pieces of news, actor Kartik Aaryan has been dropped from Dharma Production's much-awaited upcoming film 'Dostana 2' which also stars Janhvi Kapoor and debutant Lakshya in the lead roles. The film is being helmed by Collin D'Cunha.
Kartik Aaryan joined forces with Karan Johar in a grand announcement for 'Dostana 2' in 2019.
However, DNA can confirm that Karan Johar's production house has vowed not to work with actor Kartik Aaryan in 'Dostana 2' nor engage with him in any future projects.

Earlier today, Dharma Productions issued an official statement and confirmed that they are recasting Dostana 2. Since morning reports about Kartik Aaryan have been floating that the actor was replaced from the upcoming film due to creative differences. Karan Johar's Dharma productions on Friday announced that they will be recasting "Dostana 2", starring Kartik Aaryan, due to "professional circumstances". Without taking any names, the production house issued a statement about replacement in the film.
"Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence - we will be recasting 'Dostana 2', directed by Collin D'Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon," the statement from Dharma read.
Reports about Aaryan being replaced were doing the rounds on social media since morning. "Dostana 2" also features Janhvi Kapoor. The announcement of Dostana 2 had been made some 2-3 years back. However, the film was getting delayed due to unavoidable reasons. It was all set to go on floors in some months. However, the Maharastra government's order to halt shoots stalled it for some more time. It has also been rumoured that the reason behind this decision was Kartik's unprofessional behaviour and his creative differences.
