PML-N leader former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, during a session of the National Assembly on Tuesday, had a heated exchange of words with the Lower House s speaker, Asad Qaiser.
A session of the National Assembly to debate on a resolution calling for the protection of the sanctity of the Prophethood of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was held in Islamabad for a brief period and was adjourned till Friday with no major inroads made.

Pakistan s oxygen supply capacity is now under stress as the third wave of coronavirus intensifies in the country, says Head of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), Asad Umar on Monday.
Sharing his concerns to Twitter, the minister said the critical care patients in the country are now above 4500, which is 30% higher than the peak in June last year.

Head of the National Command and Operations Centre, Asad Umar, on Thursday said that three more shipments of coronavirus vaccines are inbound in April.
Speaking to
Geo News, Umar said that by June, Pakistan will have enough vaccines to inoculate 15 million people.
He said in Pakistan, there are more than 25 million people that are aged 50 and above. Of these, so far, 1.8 million people have registered for a vaccine.
The NCOC chief urged all elderly citizens and health workers eligible for the vaccine to get themselves registered immediately. ....

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar on Tuesday said that more than 1.3 million people had so far been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the country.
Addressing a press conference here, Asad Umar hoped that the vaccination for the people of age group 50 to 60 years would start soon whereas after Eidul Fitr, people of all age group would be able to get the vaccine administered. I ask all the citizens to get their name registered for vaccination because as soon as the vaccination is available for their age group, they receive it first.â The minister, who is also Chairman National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), said currently 60,000 to 70,000 people are receiving vaccines daily and this number would be increased up to 200,000 after Eidul Fitr.
