Bengaluru: Cracking a new mode of cybercrime where miscreants duped 11 private companies with fake e-bank guarantee certificates and pocketed at least.
Bengaluru Police arrested Ashish Roy, a chartered accountant, for duping companies with fake bank guarantees worth Rs 168 crore. He operated from Kuwait, had an accomplice, and received Rs 5 crore as commission.
Authorities had issued a lookout notice against Roy in February, following a complaint filed by an official from National E-Governance Services Limited regarding the submission of fraudulent e-bank guarantees by the affected companies., Bengaluru News - Times Now
