After 12 years, El Dorado High School seniors saw a promise made good on Tuesday as they signed the El Dorado Promise.

Hogan Gidley, Vice Chair of the Center for Election Integrity & Senior Advisor for Strategic Communications at the America First Policy Institute, will be the keynote speaker for Academic Signing Day (ASD) in El Dorado, celebrating around 300 graduating seniors receiving the El Dorado Promise scholarship. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 9, at 1:15 PM, in the El Dorado High School (EHS) Wildcat Arena.

El Dorado has a new girls’ basketball coach but the same mission. The Lady Wildcats have enjoyed consecutive trips to the 5A State Tournament. New coach Makara Frazier will have to replace four starters off last year’s squad if she hopes to continue the trend.

El Dorado will break the seal on its basketball season Thursday with the annual Purple-White Game, which tips off at 5 p.m. at Wildcat Arena.

Union County's students will return to school next week and several events across the county are set to take place to make sure students are fully prepared.
