The Q. THE Q – Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre is seeking expressions of interest from individuals and groups to be part of the 2022 “Q The Locals” project, a follow-up to this year’s youth Shakespeare initiative, “Q the Bard”. Successful applicants will be invited to present their work as part of next year’s subscription season, with $10,000 in cash and in-kind support of about $20,000. Expressions of interest close on August 16 here. “THE Penelopiad” by Margaret Atwood, author of “The Handmaid’s Tale”, is a play written from the perspective of Penelope, the wife of wily Greek hero Odysseus and told through a cast of 13 women who play all parts. Funeral fundraiser for Ashley Cullen from Heywood Date published: 19 May 2021 Ashley Cullen The family of Ashley Cullen from Heywood who sadly ended his life on 14 May has launched a fundraiser to give him the send-off he deserves . Ashley, 32, was sadly pronounced dead at an address on Downham Road after police were called to a report of concern for his welfare. Ashley has been described by friends and family as “down to earth” and “one of life’s special people who would give you his last penny” as well as “a kind, thoughtful, loving lad who had many friends.” Floral tributes and messages of support have since been left outside his flat. ....
