JEFFERSON CITY — Seeds of knowledge are being planted by members of the La Plata FFA Chapter in local classrooms this spring, as elementary students participate in Agriculture Education on the Move™ (Ag Moves). Through Ag Moves, an educational program of Missouri Farmers Care, students learn how their lives are connected to agriculture through hands-on learning led by passionate educators in their classrooms.

Every year, the Missouri Farmers Care Foundation and Missouri 4-H collaborate to educate and raise public awareness of food insecurity in families. To bring that awareness, 4-H clubs all around the state participate in a competition called 4-H Feeding Missouri every spring. The competition includes food drives, collecting donations, and volunteering in local food pantries. Between community service and friendly competitions, this partnership helps combat hunger statewide.
Twenty-four Missouri 4-H clubs, including one in Carthage, have been awarded 2024 Drive to Feed Kids grants through the Missouri Farmers Care Foundation.
