The Lifetime Achievement Award goes to former Councillor Mohammed Ajeeb, the first Muslim Lord Mayor in 1985 who inspired generations young and old. By the end of his first year in office, he had received hundreds of letters of appreciation from all over Britain.
But before he took up the pioneering role in City Hall, he had an extraordinary journey to the world of politics. ....
