Ward chairperson convicted of caste-based discrimination; gets jail sentence and fine

KASKI, Nov 24: The District Court, Kaski on Thursday sentenced Chairperson of Pokhara Metropolitan City-ward no 24 Bharat Bahadur Adhikari to four and a half months in jail sentence along with a fine of Rs 75,000 after finding him guilty of committing an offense of caste-based discrimination and untouchability.

KASKI, Oct 11: At least 1,481 dengue cases have been confirmed in Kaski district, according to the District Health Office. The number of patients with dengue visiting Pokhara Hospital has increased in recent days, said the hospital.

The winner of the "Finland's Best Beer 2023" competition has been announced, and the title goes to Takatalo & Tompuri Brewery's KASKI Mustakaura with an alcohol content of 5.0%. This rich and smooth beer impressed both Finnish and international judges in the final round of the competition.

Out of 450 beers from 53 breweries that entered the competition, a panel of over fifty judges meticulously evaluated each entry to determine the winners in various categories.
