SARATOGA SPRINGS — One of John Safford’s first decisions as mayor of Saratoga Springs was to institute new public comment rules at City Council meetings.
Saratoga Springs new City Council had messages of hope and harmony during a swearing-in ceremony Monday that was standing room-only. Safford, a Republican, was elected mayor of the Spa City in November. He is the city’s first Republican mayor in a decade. He will have to work alongside an all-Democrat board.
