Jasmin Hall becomes first Black President of the Inland Empire Utilities Agency   - Los Angeles Sentinel

Two elections held in the last three months have placed San Bernardino County resident Jasmin Hall in a position where she wields the most influence among a handful of African Americans serving in California water industry leadership roles. Late last year, Hall’s colleagues elected her the first African American president of the Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA).
Earlier this year, she was sworn in to serve in that role. Now, as the head of the board of one of the largest water agencies in California, Hall takes on helm of an organization that is an essential public utility for about 875,000 people living in Southern California. IEUA’s service area covers a region in the Inland Empire that includes Chino Hills, Upland, Ontario, Fontana and Montclair. ....

California NAACP To Honor Longtime Leader Alice Huffman — The Sacramento Observer


Dr. Alice A. Huffman, immediate past president of the California-Hawaii State Conference of the NAACP, is being honored by the organization she led for more than 20 years.
The organization will commemorate Black History Month by inducting Dr. Huffman during its Ninth Annual Legacy Hall of Fame ceremony. The event will be held virtually on Monday, February 1. A VIP reception is set for 5:30 p.m., with the program to begin at 6:00 p.m.
Dr. Huffman recently stepped down as president of the state NAACP. The tribute event will feature presentations from California’s most formidable and respected leaders, live music and two virtual event receptions. ....
