Laredo City Council on Tuesday voted to apply for a $9.2 million loan in order to develop the Hachar-Reuthniger Road, a future highway meant to alleviate traffic on Mines Road by connecting it to I-35 a ways north of Loop 20.
This loan will pay for the the city’s obligation to this $59 million road project, the remainder of which is being paid for by Webb County and the state.
