Flags will be flown at half-staff for the next week starting Friday across Ocean County government buildings in memory of former Ocean County Prosecutor and Toms River Mayor Tom Kelaher, who passed away this past Sunday at the age of 88. Kelaher dedicated his life to serving others, whether it be with the U.S. Military, Ocean County Prosecutors Office, as Toms River Mayor, as a parishioner at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and as a husband, father and grandfather. Former Toms River Mayor and Ocean County Prosecutor Tom Kelaher passed away on Sunday at the age of 88, Toms River Township Spokeswoman Stacy Proebstle confirmed to Townsquare Media News on Sunday evening. His legacy and memory of all he did, who he served and all whom he impacted will remain apart of the Toms River and Ocean County community for years and decades to come.

As of Thursday afternoon, MSUPD Capt. Valerie O'Brien has been arrested and is being held at Ingham County Jail. No charges are pending.
