PROVINETOWN – Saki restaurant will use part of the Town Hall lawn for outdoor seating, following a rigorous discussion by the Select Board Monday.
COVID-related losses last year from indoor seating at the restaurant prompted restaurant owner Steven Schnitzer to make the request for the temporary license, he told the Select Board.
Board Chairman David Abramson was the only member to vote against the request. The four other board members showed support but had questions.
“We’re working really hard to keep everyone afloat,” Select Board Vice-Chairman John Golden said. “It is a very under-utilized portion of the town property. Maybe more people will read that Rose Dorothea monument. I’m in total support.”
