Dana, that the trump administration basically does not want more trade tariff tiffs with our allies. dana: so how might this affect the markets if this is announced soon? we should see a lot of support. there are investors who say, even if we agree with what the trump administration is doing, we can be fighting with everybody on the same front. most investors for decades have wanted the u.s. to go after china as the trump administration is doing. even his staunchest critics in the business community do admire the way he is handling u.s./china trade relations. we even heard political opponents, house speaker nancy pelosi, senator chuck shumer in line with the president on this issue. so, dana, a word on timing as well. we do expect the official announcement later this afternoon. the plan is for the tariffs to ....
Thep mitch mcconnell had a press conference, and he thanked the democrats. he said one of our problems was trying to figure out how to motivate our voters to turn out, and they fixed the problem for us. the president has clamming i think a number of republican strategists. there s no doubt there s been a boost in the base as this battle went on. conserve tiffs are very much attuned to the courts, but history doesn t work in the way that voters don t go to the polls to say thank you. they go to the polls to express anger. the back december lash politics are stronger. you know, they didn t show up to vote for the democrats. i m wondering, and a number of strategists i spoke to, are worried that trump s voters will show up to support him when he s on the ballot. when he s not on the ballot, they re concerned they may not. ....
Whether he has the patience is a different story. david gregory, quickly, let s move on to another topic and that is cyber bullying. the first lady, melania trump is apparently against it. she speaks out. this is one of her issues. this is a lovely sentiment obviously this is important, i think, to tell children. but she, as far as we can tell, has no impact on this since her husband routinely insults people and goes after them in a sort of cyber bullying way. your thoughts? i mean, it s just sad that an important initiative like this, it s a very important topic by a first lady who has that platform is undermined by how unseriously it s taken because of the way her husband, the president uses social media. and so it just undercuts what could be credibility and an important initiative. first lady niche tiffs like this can have a high profile. this one is just not going to ....
