Galloway, Port Republic mosquito spraying rescheduled

The Atlantic County Office of Mosquito Control has rescheduled aerial spraying for Monday night in portions of Galloway Township and Port Republic, officials said.

A mosquito sample collected from 10th & Duerer Street in Egg Harbor City has been confirmed positive for West Nile virus.
The sample was collected on July 19 by the Atlantic County Office of Mosquito Control and confirmed positive on July 26. County public health and mosquito control officials are conducting mosquito surveillance and implementing additional control measures.
This is the second positive sample collected in the county this year. The first was found in Northfield earlier this month. There are no reported human cases of the virus at this time, according to county health officials.

Galloway, Port Republic mosquito spraying rescheduled

Due to unfavorable wind conditions, the Atlantic County Office of Mosquito Control has canceled the aerial mosquito spray scheduled for Wednesday evening, July 26, for portions of Galloway and Port Republic. Conditions are not expected to improve tomorrow, so spraying will not occur on Thursday. No new spray date has been scheduled at this time.

Atlantic County has reported its first mosquito sample of the year that has tested positive for West Nile virus. The sample was collected from the 1200 block of Zion Road in Northfield.
Representatives from the Atlantic County Office of Mosquito Control collected the sample on July 12 and it was confirmed positive for West Nile virus on July 18. County public health and mosquito control officials are conducting mosquito surveillance and implementing additional control measures.
There are no reported human cases of the virus at this time, according to county health officials.
