When they bought the house in 2017, “our rate was 3.875 percent, the lowest I had seen,” said Jordan Chalmers, a real estate agent. Meg Chalmers is a speech therapist. In October they refinanced at 2.99 percent, at the same time switching from a 30-year mortgage to a 25-year. “We dropped $300 a month and five years,” Jordan Chalmers said.
